We are thrilled you have accepted the invitaion to help us reach one of our top ten metro areas, and all of the northwest, with Jesus and the Adventist message.
Here are some notes to help you as you prayerfully prepare.
- God’s Leading. We believe God has led you to come and help us.
- Your own armor. Each of our MOMENTUM! Satellite reaping events has its own uniqueness. We look forward to you working in your own armor to present Jesus and His Bible truths and invite people to respond to them. Our team is here to assist. The planning team (Area Pastors, Host Conference Coordinator and me) are aware of your ministry and believe you are just the person to help us follow up the interests that are developed before the satellite meeting.
- Your message from God’s word. The central part of each of the eight meetings is your presentation of God’s word. If we have done our preparation properly, the majority of the audience is familiar with many of the basic Bible truths. We hope your will simply give a brief review and tell stories of God’s power to help people who have decided to be faithful to Jesus in each area of their lives. You can take as much or as little time as you like.
- Additional Programming. To supplement your message you can let us know if you would like any particular musicians, songs, drama, etc. or if you would like the Host Conference Coordinator to take care of any or all of these things.
- Satellite & DVD Recording. Our first priority is to see God at work on site. We want to capture this experience for satellite and later DVD production so we will film and edit the programs, and if desired, provide slide graphics for the presentations and an opener. The programs will be aired on The Hope Channel and a DVD will be produced with the eight programs and provided free to all our NPUC churches and schools. Todd Gessele, NPUC Director of New Media Outreach, oversees this area and can provide graphics and an opener if you would like. As soon as you have selected a theme and message titles please let him know. He will also give you some helpful information on how many cameras will be used, what quality of graphics are needed if you are supplying your own, the use of a teleprompter if you would like one, what colors to avoid wearing for camera recording, etc. (Technical Considerations for MOMENTUM! Satellite Evangelists)
- Local preparation for this Satellite Reaping Event. Before the meetings we will have, hopefully, hundreds of prayer groups and Bible study groups that are preparing the harvest. There will be a number of special events hosted by area churches and some other local reaping activities leading up to your satellite reaping meetings. There should even be a number of people ready for baptism before your opening night, so, if you and the team agreed, we could have a short testimony and baptism each of the eight nights. This aspect is the role of the area pastors in cooperation with the Host Conference Coordinator.
My job is chief servant, errand boy, vision caster and encourager. Feel free to contact me or any of the other team members as needed. We greatly look forward to what God will do through our prayerful, united efforts.
